Technically this falls outside of the realm of my three main addictions (music, anime, video games) but there are exceptions to everything. This is one of a few of those exceptions. This show is without a doubt one of my top 3 television programs that I've ever watched. I like it so much so, in fact, that I even watch the reruns several times over, which I would normally never do. I suppose there's something kinda bad about it though, the show is about robbing people's houses. Honestly, It Takes A Thief makes crime almost cool.
Jon and Matt getting ready to do some burgling.
The premise of this show is that two reformed criminals, Jon Douglas-Rainey and Matt Johnston, choose a house/family and tell them that they're going to attempt to rob their home. In the first season the family would be told to lock up and they would be taken to a suspicious rape-van that Matt parked a little distance away and watch on some monitors they set up. That wasn't the good season. In the second season they simply got the OK from the homeowners to rob them, and they let them go about their business for a while and then unexpectedly break in to the house. For most of the people on the show, they had major problems with locking up their house and security measures in general. As such Jon 9/10 times breaks in, trashes the house, steals everything of value (including their own car) and sometimes even their dog (yes, the dog too).
All in all its a very entertaining show to watch, you may even get double the pleasure out of it if you're fond of seeing other people suffering.
Level of Addiction: 8/10 - As addictive as
the rush you get from stealing your first car!
Not that I would know...
